• Bingo in Oklahoma

Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That’s due to the fact that the Native bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for ages. Patrons from every one of the neighboring states get in vans and visit Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo for the weekends.

The 1988 IGRA followed a landmark determination by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Indian tribes located in Oklahoma have opened gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Amerindian band to take advantage of the gaming restrictions, and at this time operate 10 casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were founded. Electronic games like slot machine games weren’t approved, due to the fact that they’re believed to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma rules have changed to permit big Amerindian gaming casinos. You’ll now find Native casinos with slot machines, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are still not legal in the Indian casinos yet, but this is just a waiting game. No one can determine whether having different games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
