• Oklahoma Bingo

Oklahoma has for a long time been analogous with Bingo. This is due to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for ages. Guests from every one of the nearby states pile in autos and travel into Oklahoma to bet on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) became law after a benchmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that time, twenty three of the 39 Indian tribes of Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Native band to take advantage of the gaming rules, and today run ten gambling halls of their very own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling dens were built on. Electronic games such as slots were not allowed, due to the fact that they are believed to contribute to gambling dependency more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma law has altered to permit big Amerindian gaming gambling halls. You’ll now see Indian gambling halls with slots, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet legal in the Native gambling halls yet, however this is only a matter of time. Nobody can say what having different casino games in the bingo parlours will do for the appeal of bingo.
