• Bingo in Oklahoma

    Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That’s because the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for years. Clients from all of the neighboring states get in cars and head over to Oklahoma to bet on Bingo for the weekends.

    The 1988 IGRA became law after a precedent setting determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that instance, twenty three of the thirty nine Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Indian tribes to take advantage of the gambling rules, and at this time control 10 casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were built on. computerized games such as one armed bandits were not allowed, since they are thought to lead to gambling dependency more than bingo.

    In the past few years, Oklahoma rules has altered to allow for gigantic Indian betting gambling halls. Craps and roulette are still not allowed in the American Indian gambling dens as of yet, but that is simply a matter of time.
