Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s owing to the fact that the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for many years. Guests from all of the neighboring states load up in autos and travel to Oklahoma to play Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a landmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. From that time, 23 of the thirty nine Native bands of Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the gaming restrictions, and today operate 10 gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were founded. Electronic games like one armed bandits were not allowed, due to the fact that they’re believed to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to permit massive Indian gaming gambling halls. You’ll now find Amerindian casinos with slot machine games, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet approved in the American Indian gambling dens as of yet, but this is simply a waiting game. Nobody can determine what having different games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
