• Bingo and Oklahoma: Two birds of a feather

Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That is due to the fact that the Native tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for ages. Clients from each of the surrounding states load up in autos and travel into Oklahoma to wager on Bingo for the weekends.

The 1988 IGRA was introduced after a precedent setting ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Native tribes of Oklahoma have opened gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the betting laws, and at this time control 10 gambling halls of their very own. Bingo is the game on which these casinos were founded. computerized games like slot machine games were not allowed, on the grounds that they are thought to lead to gambling addiction more than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law have changed to permit massive Indian gaming casinos. You’ll now see Indian gambling halls with slots, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the Indian casinos yet, but that is just a waiting game. Nobody can say with what having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
