Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That is because the Indian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for many years. Clients from each of the nearby states pile in automobiles and visit Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a benchmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. Since that time, twenty three of the 39 Amerindian tribes located in Oklahoma have opened bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and today operate 10 gambling dens of their very own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling dens were built on. automated games such as one armed bandits weren’t permitted, because they are thought to lead to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma rules have changed to permit gigantic American Indian betting gambling dens. You’ll now discover Indian gambling halls with slot machines, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the Native casinos yet, although that is just a matter of time. No one can authority what having different games in the bingo parlours will do for the popularity of bingo.
